Back home to Bulgaria

The weather had changed. At Lake Orhid it had been 36 degrees Celsius, but on our way home it was 11 degrees in the mountains. The skies were cloudy and it was drizzling as we drove east towards the Bulgarian border.

At some points there was heavy traffic in the roads.

We reached the Bulgarian border and Jodie enjoyed this sign. We wondered if smugglers were obedient enough to make their declarations as requested.

There was a feeling of being home the minute we crossed back into Bulgaria. Macedonia is a beautiful country, as you can see by our pictures. Its capital city, Skopje, doesn't give the best impression. Unfortunately, our visit was soured by the tragedy at Lake Orhid, a tragedy shared both by Macedonians and Bulgarians.
